On day 1, you'll learn the most important lesson which is the fundamentals of air conditioning. You'll understand some of the most basic yet commonly misunderstood elements of air conditioning. With this lesson, you'll be able to move forward in HVAC with greater understanding.
On day 2, you'll learn the actual application of the fundamentals you've learned in day 1. Real world working numbers will be provided to you and the reason why such numbers work will be explained. Furthermore, additional components used in modern air conditioners and heat pumps will also be revealed and elaborated.
On day 3, you'll learn the very first lesson about designing an air conditioning system. You'll understand the physics and science behind cooling and heating as well as the latest methods used to size air conditioners. To ensure you walk away with a skill, a simplified approach will be presented.
On day 4, you'll proceed to select the suitable air conditioning equipment based on what you've done in day 3. You'll be introduced to various available equipment options alongside their pros and cons. At the end of this module, you'll know how to pick air conditioner models and place them at the proper location.
On day 5, you'll learn how to design the air distribution system for certain types of air conditioning equipment you've selected in day 4. You'll learn the step-by-step procedure to size ducts and select grilles & diffusers. Furthermore, you'll learn how to design a duct layout and check the workability of your design.
On day 6, you'll learn the basics of fan sizing and ventilation system. You'll understand what is ventilation and how it is done properly. With a simple approach, you'll learn how to size exhaust fan and design basic ventilation systems backed with a series of design principles in mind.
On day 7, you'll be introduced to the chilled water system. You'll understand how a basic chilled water system works with different types of chillers. Then, the popular chilled water system configurations will be presented and explained to you. At the end of this module, you'll be able to explain what is a chiller system and read a chilled water system schematic diagram.
In day 8, you'll learn various types of pipes that are commonly used in HVAC. Then, you'll be taught a procedure to size pipes. Additionally, you'll learn how to check if the pipe insulation thickness is sufficient. Lastly, you'll understand some of the important concepts of pipes and pumps.
In day 9, you'll learn how air conditioners and exhaust fans are controlled. You'll understand the strategies used to maintain good indoor air quality. Various kinds of control signals and communication protocols will be explained to you alongside the integration between HVAC and BMS.
In the last day, you'll learn how to read various electrical related matters such as control panel layout, single line diagram and control circuit diagram. You'll understand how an HVAC equipment react to different control logics. Finally, you'll end your lesson with a procedure to size cable and wire.
